Colin’s Story

I am a below the knee amputee, a motivational speaker, the COO of Regenerative Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, a former professional chef and an avid gardener. I grew up the youngest of eight and have faced and overcome many challenges in life. By the time I was thirty, I lost my grandparents, parents and two siblings and then rolled into twenty-one foot/ankle surgeries ending with an amputation in December of 2016. In a little over one year after being fitted with my prosthesis, I was walking running, swimming and ran a 5K. In January of 2020, I was diagnosed with the dysautonomia P.O.T.S., Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. And this past spring, I managed the hospice care of my oldest brother who passed away suddenly from pancreatic cancer.

Through these experiences, I have learned the power of positivity and faith, that every day is a re-birth, an opportunity to change your life, and to always take one more step each day to better yourself. And most important, NEVER give up.

I know that my journey, all of the ups and downs, and loss and pain that I have endured, continue to make me a better person every day. I may get knocked down, but I will always get up, dust myself off and keep moving forward.

My purpose now is to share my experiences to help other people by giving them hope. The calling in my heart to do so, grows louder and louder each day. In many ways, I feel like I have crossed the river and now I am wadding backing into the river to pull as many people across the river as I can. I have no regrets just a greater appreciation and deeper love for life and all of my blessings.
